Pampas is
NOT a native
Pampas
Weedy South American pampas is often
mistaken for native toe toe, but there are
some easy ways to tell them apart.
Pampas flower heads are upright,
fluffy and white or purple-tinged.
Toe toe flowers are generally droopy,
creamy in colour, and less fluffy.
Pampas leaves have a distinct midrib and
sharply serrated edges.
Toe toe leaves have secondary veins
between the midrib and leaf edge.
Pampas develops a tall, solid base with dead
leaves curling like wood shavings.
Toe toe grows from a flat base and dead
leaves don’t curl.
Help protect our natural
environment - replace invasive
pampas with native toe toe.
