The Perennial Farm is “The Delivery Specialist” with deliveries to most locations 2-3 times per week
The Knockout Rose ranges from 3 to 5 feet tall and equally wide. It
produces multiple clusters of terminal blooms, each 3 to 3.5 inches
across. These very light, fragrant flowers come in many colors and
will bloom from spring until frost. Humidity doesn’t seem to bother
the Knockout Rose, and it’s drought and cold tolerant. It’s somewhat
shade-tolerant but does need about six hours of full sun per day.
True to its low maintenance reputation, the Knock Out Rose doesn’t
require deadheading and is resistant to aphids, powdery mildew and
black spot, the scourge of rose enthusiasts. Choose a well-drained
site with good air movement. It’s perfect for grouped planting or even
hedges. The foliage turns from a lustrous green to burgundy in the
fall, and the new growth is slightly burgundy, too. Double Knockout
Roses are more floriferous than regular Knockout Roses and they
raise the bar with petal counts of 18-25, twice the number of
Knockout, borne 3-6 on a stem. The additional petals present a fuller,
richer pinkish/red inflorescence that is simply breathtaking. These
blooms are about 2 ½ inches wide. But don’t let the smaller sized
blooms fool you—they make up for their size in abundance. The new
growth is a dramatic burgundy red. Knockout and Double Knockout
Roses will be a spectacular addition to every garden. Along with the
eye-catching blooms and superior performance they offer wonderful
versatility of use. Hardiness Zones: 4 – 9

White Out is a new introduction from
breeder, Bill Radler who redefined
disease resistance and Flower Power of
roses. A great rose that will appeal to
landscapers and homeowners in most
parts of the country. Although black
spot resistant, it is suceptible to black
spot under extreme humidity and
overhead watering. Precautionary
treatment with a fungicide will keep this
beauty looking good. An efficient, more
compact alternative to Iceberg.
Drift - Roses “The new groundcover
roses for small gardens & containers”A
breakthrough in rose hybridizing, the
Drifts® are compact groundcover roses.
Their versatile habit fits equally well into
small home gardens, patio containers and
hanging baskets as it does when they are
planted en masse across large, open beds.
The Drifts® have been tested extensively
under very diverse climate conditions.
They are winter hardy in zone 5 and
could easily qualify as spreading
miniatures. Drifts® show the same
disease resistance as their larger, betterknown cousins, the Meidiland® and
Carefree™ shrub roses. Drifts® are
equally well suited for large commercial
plantings.

Descriptions go to www.perennialfarm.com “Flowering Shrubs”
Flowering Shrubs make up a group of plants that have woody stems and are multi-branching from the base of the plant, whereas trees
have one main trunk from the base. Flowering Shrubs can be grown in a shrub border or in a mixed border, mixed with other different plants
such as annuals and perennials. Most Flowering Shrubs are easy to grow and don’t need a whole lot of maintenance.
Arctostaphylos uva-ursi
Bearberry, kinnikinnick
At 6-12", this native evergreen
trailing groundcover will grow in poor
or sandy well-drained soils. The thick
green leaves of bearberry are
combined with small nodding white
flowers in mid to late spring followed
by bright red berries that persist into
winter. The foliage takes on a
reddish-plum color in fall providing
winter interest. Plant 18" apart.
