88 B. venosa The Rhizomes B. acetosa. This superb rhizomatous begonia is native to Brazil and features large, round, hirsute, dark green leaves which are rich red underneath. It has proven to be an excellent garden plant. Needs some sunshine for best results, up to 3 hours daily is not too much. Flowers from spring into early summer with pale pink blooms held high above the ground hugging foliage. Mass planting is recommended for a spectacular bedding display.
