Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other garden plants with less refined foliage. This is a relatively low maintenance perennial, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. Deer don't particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics. Lidakense Stonecrop is recommended for the following landscape applications; - General Garden Use - Mass Planting - Groundcover - Border Edging - Container Planting - Rock/Alpine Gardens Sedum cauticola 'Lidakense' in bloom Photo courtesy of NetPS Plant Finder [email protected] 93 East Main Street Hopkinton MA 02148 - (508) 435-3414 160 Pine Hill Road Chelmsford MA 01824 - (978) 349-0055 COMMERCIAL: [email protected] - (508) 293-8028 www.WestonNurseries.com Plant Characteristics: Lidakense Stonecrop will grow to be only 2 inches tall at maturity extending to 4 inches tall with the flowers, with a spread of 8 inches. Its foliage tends to remain low and dense right to the ground. It grows at a slow rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 10 years. This perennial does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application. It is not particular as to soil pH, but grows best in poor soils, and is able to handle environmental salt. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This plant can be propagated by division. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America.
