Webster - Roy Wheeler, 73, of 3 Boyden St. Ext, died
Monday, March 16 in UMASS -University Campus
Worcester after a short illness.
He leaves his wife Kristina (Maki) Wheeler.
two sons: Robert Wheeler of CT. and Thomas Wheeler of
Webster : stepdaughter, Felicia DeSalvio of Putnam, CT;
stepson, Guy Shroyer of Dudley; stepdaughter, Brandi
Carlson of Iceland; stepson, Joshua Wonoski of Webster, his
former wife Betty Wheeler of CT; , several nieces and
nephews; 5 grandchildren also survived by a brother: Paul
and a sister Esther and Predeceased by 3 brothers.

He was born in Northbridge, MA, the son of the late Cecil
and Helen (Metcalf) Wheeler. He was raised in Douglas and
was a long time resident of Webster. Roy proudly served his
country as a Airman First Class with the Air Force from 1956
to 1964 and was a mechanic stationed for a few years at
Johnson AFB in Japan.
He worked many years at the Angelo Fabrics retiring as a
Supervisor in 1999. Roy was the bar manager for the past 8
years at the American Legion Post 184 in Webster.
Mr. Wheeler was a member of American Legion Post 184,
He was a Champion horse shoe player and enjoyed playing
pool. He excelled at gardening and was an avid hunter and
fisherman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20 at 7:00 pm in
Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley.
with the Webster- Dudley Veteran Council officiating .
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 PM prior to
the service. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to the American Legion Post
184 Houghton St. Webster ,Ma 01570 or to a charity of one's
