Course Description
This course is a survey of topics of interest to the consumer. Topics include budgeting,
financial institutions, basic income tax, credit, consumer protection, insurance, house
purchase, retirement planning, estate planning, investing, and consumer purchases.

The student will demonstrate the ability to evaluate and purchase consumer credit
and personal investments.

VIII. Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered. Students who are
unable to attend class regularly, regardless of the reason or circumstance, should with
draw from that class before poor attendance interferes with the student’s ability to
achieve the objectives required in the course. Withdrawal from class can affect eligibility
for federal financial aid.
IX.
