MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 12, 2014 Contact: Joellen Thompson Water System Manager 616-456-4550 GRAND RAPIDS WATER SYSTEM CUSTOMERS October 12, 2014 The recent Boil Water Advisory issued in connection with the water main break at Monroe Ave and Pershing Ave in Northeast Grand Rapids has been lifted. It is no longer necessary to use bottled water or boil the water before drinking it. No coliform bacteria have been detected in follow up testing of the system’s water. This, in addition to corrective actions, indicates that the water is safe drink. Customers with questions or concerns about the water should contact the Grand Rapids Customer Service at 311 or 616-456-3000. #####
