Primary Storage Node (PSN)
Enterprise Class Video Storage Device
Synectics’ PSN Servers
are available in RAID 5
or 6 configurations
of up to 30/27TB of
useable storage
respectively in 2RU.
Synectics’ Primary Storage Node
(PSN) server is a network attached
storage system engineered with
enterprise class components to
ensure high data throughput and
ultra-reliability. Synectics’ backplane
technology delivers non-blocking,
real time, broadcast quality recording
of analogue encoded and IP video
streams from a variety of third party
cameras and encoders.
Synectics’ PSNs are configured with
hot swap auto-rebuild, 1, 2 or 3TB
hard drives with 1 million hour MTBF,
dual hot swap power supplies and
dual gigabit network connections
ensure optimum resilience and
uptime. All PSN’s host Synectics’
robust Recording Management
System software (RMS), the cornerstone of our Security Video Management
System (SVMS). Synectics flexible,
user friendly storage management
software allows users to configure
each video stream’s frame rate,
resolution, retention and data rate.
Streams can be configured to record
real time or time lapse frame rates
with Synectics’ unique Time Lapse
Later (TLL) technology. RMS also selfmonitors server components and data
integrity with Synectics’ proprietary
Watchdog system, which can auto
restart in the event of a catastrophic
failure such as power loss.
Finally, RMS ensures that every
recorded video stream is encrypted
and authenticated to 128-bit using
SHA-2 hashing. SHA-2 hashing is
applied during recording and insures
that any exported or replicated video
data is identical to the original source
and can be validated throughout its
evidential life.
