Responsible to:
Press and Marketing Officer
Expenses:
Zone 1 – 6 travel and £5 lunch per day
Hours:
Ideally 3 days a week (flexible)
3 months
Key objectives:
To assist the Marketing and Press team in
implementing and delivering a range of marketing
activities to help maximise revenue and raise the profile
of Rose Theatre Kingston.
To develop a set of skills that will aid future career
prospects in Arts Marketing and Administration.

Marketing Placement
Key tasks/responsibilities
Marketing & Press
 Assist the marketing team with the development and implementation of
marketing and press campaigns for shows, events, bars and other activities
at the Rose
 Source and coordinate reciprocal marketing activity with other venues and
theatre companies
 Distribute posters, flyers and other marketing materials as required
 Maintain front of house print display and manage stock control of print room
 Assist with the creation of show programmes and other print
 Proofreading marketing and press materials
 Keep the press database up to date with relevant contacts and research into
new publications
 Submit online and offline listings and continually research new opportunities
 Assist with press nights and other marketing or press events
 Attend meetings and events and provide administrative assistance as and
when required
Digital
 Assist in the creation of digital artwork
 Contribute to the Rose social networking websites, including Facebook,
Twitter and Instagram
 Research and prepare website materials and assist with website
maintenance
 Research e-marketing opportunities and assist with online campaigns
 Proof reading and assisting with email campaigns

Person Specification
Essential







A committed and enthusiastic individual with a passion for the arts
An interest in arts marketing or administration; either looking to take the first
step into, or at the beginning of, an arts marketing career
Good IT skills including social media
Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
Knowledge of design programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop
Desirable


Knowledge of Rose Theatre Kingston and its background
Some experience of marketing or publicity work
