The Characteristic of an N.T.C Thermistor
The NTC Thermistor consists of two wires of different material, one of them is
alumel, other one is chromel. This two wires connect one end which is called hot junction,
other ends is separated which called cold junction. This type of construction is named NTC
Thermistor.
Output voltage can be obtained temperature difference between the two ends of
wire which are hot and cold. This output voltage can change linearly depends on magnitude
of the temperature difference.
In our experiment, we connected the circuits as shown in our datasheet
(experiment11, figure3). In this circuit also have a amplifier gain which provide us see
difference easily. In addition, we adjusted the voltmeter to the 200mV DC range and set the
gain course to 10 and gain fine to 0,2. In this way, we adjust the offset control for the zero
initial conditions. After that we start to heat our NTC Thermistor from the hot end and
obtain the temperature difference. This difference provide us voltage. We continuous to
heat our material and we saw linearly increasing voltage, and we tabled in the Table1.

And then, we graph the difference of the temperature and output of the voltage as
shown Figure1.

The N.T.C Thermistor are made from a pressed disc or cast chip of a semiconductor.
Because of increasing number of able to moving electrons which temperature reason, the
thermistor can work. If we apply more charge carriers, the thermistor can conduct more
current. And also we measure the current with ammeter.
In real world, there are many applications N.T.C Thermistor. For example, the
resistance thermometers use this thermistor in the low temperatures. Another example,
NTC Thermistor are regularly used in automotive applications such as showing the coolant
temperature or oil temperature inside the engine. Another instance, NTC thermistors are
used in the Food Handling and Processing industry, especially for food storage systems and
food preparation. Maintaining the correct temperature is critical to prevent food borne
illness. Also this examples, NTC thermistors are used throughout the Consumer Appliance
industry for measuring temperature. Toasters, coffee makers, refrigerators, freezers, hair
dryers, etc. all rely on thermistors for proper temperature control. Shortly we can
understand that the NTC thermistor is used a lot of different applications.
