PC 34/10: Partial Review to North Harbours Local Plan (2006)
It is proposed to change the designation of the site under consideration
from Public Open Space to part of the White Rocks Area Development
Brief with the following objectives;
1. To provide a comprehensive development
regeneration of the White Rocks area;

2. To create a mixed use sports/commercial/multi-ownership tourism
accommodation destination under one management that enhances
Malta’s tourism product with specific emphasis on sports tourism;
3. To provide high quality sports facilities addressing local needs for
both training and competitive venues, including facilities addressing
the needs of local and visiting athletes in providing training sports
science, educational and grassroots sporting development whilst
having the capability of hosting major events on an international
level; and
4. To promote an environmentally sustainable development that follows
best practice in terms of environmental sustainable design,
construction, and management.
