Classroom Policies &
Procedures:
I am extremely excited to be your world history teacher this semester. In order for
the classroom to run smoothly and for you to achieve success within this class, I
ask that you display the following characteristics at all times:
 EFFORT—Provide a great work ethic during class and at home with
your homework.
 COMMUNICATION—it is essential that we share a clear line of
communication at all times. Be willing to share your ideas!!!
 INDEPENDENCE—throughout our independent activities, strives to
display what you have learned. Don’t be afraid to fail, we learn more
from our failures than our successes.
 PREPARATION—Come to class prepared and ready to learn each
and every day.
 MUTUAL RESPECT— I will not be a drill sergeant in the classroom.
I promote a classroom built on mutual respect. I respect each student in
the classroom just as they respect the teacher. Students’ will not
interrupt the teacher or other students’ while they are sharing their
thoughts on the material being covered. This standard is aimed at
building professionalism.


ACADEMIC INTEGRITY— Cheating will not be tolerated in this
class. Students are expected to complete their work on their own. I
have a two- step policy. First offense- students will receive a zero on
the assignment. Second offense- students’ will receive a zero on the
assignment and will be required to attend a meeting with administrators
and parents and/or guardians.
MR. MARTIN’S NUMBER ONE RULE! — Students’ will provide
their full attention during instructional time. This includes but is not
limited to: lectures, discussions, tests, or dictations. In other words,
when Mr. Martin is talking, you are not!
