and emissions through offsetting
Siemens Smart Generation Solutions
Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical
Siemens Hybrid Power Solutions
provide turnkey hybrid installations that minimize
operation costs and emissions by integrating
renewables into diesel power plants while
ensuring a reliable power supply.
Your Benefits
■ Fuel savings of up to 60 %
■ Reduced logistic/
transportation costs
■ Emission reduction
of up to 60 %
■ Reliable power supply
with high grid stability
and power quality
■ Up to 100 % peak
penetration of renewables
Siemens Hybrid Power Solutions
are one-stop turnkey
solutions for independent hybrid
power plants in remote locations.
The Task
Typically diesel power plants are used to provide
electricity on islands and in remote locations.
In order to reduce fuel consumption and
the exposure to future price rises, associated
logistic costs and emissions, new or existing
diesel generator systems can be complemented
by renewable energy. Grid stability and power
quality is a prerequisite in all operating modes
and must be guaranteed.
Our Solution
Siemens Hybrid Power Solutions integrate high
levels of renewable energy with diesel power
plants, customized to the specific local conditions
such as irradiation and consumer loads.
This hybridization leads to a significant reduction
in operating costs and carbon emissions. Utilizing
integrated battery storage, high grid stability can
be ensured, even during periods of up to 100 %
peak penetration of renewable generation.
Siemens Hybrid Power Solutions minimize
customer risk, maximize profitability and
minimize emissions by:
 One-stop turnkey solutions
 Individual system analysis and sizing for
optimum total energy generation costs
 Guaranteed project success through
performance contracting
 Siemens Fleet Control Solution with power
management for automated, optimized
operation, balanced supply and demand
 Reduced exposure to fuel price rises
 Power sharing among generation units based
on process data, loads and weather forecasts to
optimize the use of power generation from
renewables
 Web based performance monitoring platform
for remote access – anytime, anywhere
The Siemens Fleet Control Solution provides
complete operational functionality including
HMI, data and event recording, remote access,
alarm handling, redundancy and fault
management, long-term product availability
and support.
Siemens Hybrid Power Solutions start with the
analysis of the customers’ requirements and
renewable resources as basis for system design,
sizing and modeling. Additionally the integration
of all generation units is carried out to ensure
network stability through frequency, active
power and voltage control and load shedding.
Depending on the individual project specifications the turnkey solution covers the
whole process:
 One-stop turnkey solutions incl. planning,
engineering, installation & commissioning
and service
 Integration with existing diesel generators or
delivery of new diesel power plants
 Delivery of wind and/or solar parks
 Technology selection, sizing and delivery of
energy storage (e.g. batteries)
 Siemens Fleet Control Solution with power
management for economically optimized,
automated operation
 Complete electrical package incl. electrical
balance of plant and grid integration.
 Service packages for reliable operation
Additionally Siemens offers training and can be
a partner for an individual financing solution.
