The Times Weekly Edition. This miniature edition of THE TIMES of LONDON was published between 22 April, 1942 and 30 January, 1946, initially fortnightly then weekly from 10 June, 1942 onwards. It was produced as follows: the full page edition was photographically reduced to 5.5 x 8.25 inches, cast in plates and printed on a flat-bed Machine on India (Bible) paper. Between 12-13,000 copies were printed per month by The Times Publishing Co. for the Political Intelligence Department of the Foreign Office and the Ministry of Information for distribution overseas. In March 1944, the ratio was c.3,500 copies for PID to c.9,000 copies for MOI. It was principally used as a propaganda tool for disseminating news from a "reliable source" across the world.
