Ludwig van Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany the 26 of December year
1770. His father Johann was a singer at court in Köln, but he was also an
alcoholic. Ludwig had two brothers Kaspar and Johann how was named after
his father, there mother Maria was dieing; she had tuberculosis and died when
Ludwig was sixteen. 1789 Ludwig asked his alcoholic father to retire, he
wanted al the responsibility of his younger brothers Carl and Johann.
Ludwig’s father realized that Ludwig had a big musical talent really early; he
started to teach Ludwig when he was four years old and he was only seven
years old when he played for real audience the first time. Ludwig played
instruments on the court theatre and he was also assistant organist in the court
chapel, there he got his first teaching in composition by the first court organist
C.G Neefe. 1784 he went to Wien to have music lessons with Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart.
When Ludwig was 28 he started to hear different sorts of peeps in his ears, it
was in that moment he understood that he was going to be deaf. Four years
later he was so depressed by his handicap that he almost committed suicide.
In 1817 he lost his hearing. Because of his big handicap he stopped to play
piano and all the other instruments, the only thing he did was to compose. His
last symphony was done 1824 the contents of the symphony was based on his
experiences in his life as one of the biggest composer in the history.
Beethoven died the 26 of Mars, he became 56 years old. Every school in Wien
was closed so the childes could go to his funeral, it came over 2 thousand
people to visit his grave the same day.
