• Our composer is Igor Stravinsky. He is the son of
Fyodor Stravinsky. He was born on June 17, 1882. He
started to play the piano when he was 10. He was
taught by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov when he was 20
from 1905 to 1908.
• One of his most important pieces of work was Rite of
Spring and The Firebird. He is a great influence on
many composers today and his is a very important
contribution to music.
• Among his other works there are operas, and ballets
that have all helped Stravinsky in his career. He
settled in France but then stayed in America.
• He performed alot of his work up until his death on
April 6, 1971 in New York. His body was flown to
Venice to be buried
