THE ROLE
Communicator, one of Trinity Mirror plc’s digital businesses, is an industry leader in the provision of
enterprise digital communications, providing technology based solutions, strategy and expertise
across the key digital channels of email, mobile, social and web.
We work with a range of high profile global businesses as well as smaller growing companies. As part
of our continued growth we are looking for a Digital Marketing Strategist to join our Commercial
Management Team.
As Digital Marketing Strategist you’ll be responsible for helping Communicator clients optimise their
marketing strategies and tactics. You’ll be working with our clients big and small to help leverage the
power of digital marketing to drive database growth, engagement and revenue generation. You’ll be
sharing your expertise across the industry, speaking at conferences, hosting workshops and authoring
white papers. This consultancy position is primarily focused on digital communications but will often
require an understanding of the overall marketing program.
THE CANDIDATE
This is a great opportunity to lead some of the biggest brands on their multi-channel marketing
journey. The ideal candidate for this position will live and breathe digital marketing from strategy to
execution. You will have impressed clients or colleagues with your insight into how to build incredibly
successful marketing programs and you’ll understand every detail that made them successful. You’ll
have a detailed knowledge of Communicator’s core channels (email, mobile, social and web) and
will love learning about digital innovations. Your attributes and track record will also include the ability
to:
Develop a clear understanding of needs and challenges and present practical, actionable
marketing programs to address them

Leverage business experience to identify new opportunities and program enhancements

Produce professional reports and present and influence senior executives within client
organisations

Show imitative and take responsibility to complete projects single handed

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand and identify the client’s
challenges and make recommendations to optimise their marketing strategies and tactics
including;


Campaign optimization: optimize online marketing campaign performance

Lifecycle marketing programs: develop and execute highly personalised campaigns

Tactical recommendations: creative, deliverability, data collection, segmentation,
privacy etc

Customer contact strategy: develop multi-channel contact strategies
Set project management goals, timelines, and deliverables for each client engagement
working in tandem with clients, internal and outside resources to execute the project
accordingly, adjust as necessary, and deliver as expected

Develop and execute Communicator service offerings including strategic planning workshops,
consultancy sessions, training, audits etc

Alongside the Data Insight Manager conduct detailed business analysis of client email
programs, using that analysis to identify problem indicators and areas of improvement

Contribute to Communicator’s thought leadership in the industry by writing whitepapers,
benchmark studies, blog postings, industry-published articles and present at industry events

Use your digital passion to help create a buzz with clients and prospects – and be a key piece
of our business development process to drive new business opportunities.

Continually monitor and stay informed on current digital trends, new technology solutions and
competitive strategies and translate into new marketing ideas for clients
