BAG A COUNTRY
Assignment: In groups of no more than 3-4 people, research a Spanish speaking country and
produce a decorated brown paper bag filled with the information learned.
Each group is to design the outside of a brown paper bag in any manner you see fit with words,
pictures, and the name of the country you are researching. Each picture must have a caption
(sentence or two underneath it to describe it) that explains its significance and/or why you
chose it.
Grading for the project will be based on the rubric found in the back of the project packet.
Items in the bag – (5pts each/10 items total) Pick any 8 items from the following list plus the 2*
(altogether 10 items)
*Your bag MUST have:*
A. *A map of the country with neighbors and water boundaries clearly labeled.
B. *A graph (literacy rate, GNP/GDP [Gross National Product/Gross Domestic Product], life
expectancy) compared to the US, 2 other countries and your BAG country [country you
are researching]
You can pick any 8 of the following:
C. Agricultural product. Why is this product important to the country? Place an example in the
bag.
D. Agricultural product used in a recipe on an index card. Extra points if recipe is made and
brought into class on the day of the presentation.
E. Mining product. Picture/sample. What is it used for? Why is it important to the country?
F. Famous person with information about their life.
G. Famous place with information about the locale.
H. Indigenous animal specific to the area with a picture and information.

have on the country in question?
