Appointments
Appointments can be arranged personally or by
telephoning the practice. In order to meet the
needs of all of our patients and the demand for
appointments on the day we offer a mixture of
appointments and surgeries, some surgeries
can be pre-booked up to 6 weeks in advance
whilst other surgeries can only be accessed on
the day. Urgent appointments will be given on
the same day, although they may not be with
your chosen GP. If you wish to see a specific
GP it is advisable to book up to 2 weeks in
advance. It is practice policy to see all sick
children on the day, we recommend phoning at
08:30 for an emergency appointment if your
child becomes unwell. In order to prioritise
patient needs our receptionists have been
requested, by the GPs, to ask certain questions
in strictest confidence. This enables us to
triage our appointment system effectively and
book you the most appropriate appointment
with the most appropriate clinician. Should
you wish to speak with a clinician over the
telephone please leave a message with the
receptionist who will pass it on to the relevant
member of staff and if necessary request a call
back for a telephone appointment.

The health visitor, Brigid Liefting, provides
health advice for children. She has special
responsibility for health and development of
children under the age of five and is
responsible for development checks. Please call
the practice to find out how to get in touch.
The practice provides access to talking
therapies from the Richmond Wellbeing
Service and a counsellor can be contacted
through the GP.
Home visits are available for elderly or
housebound patients unable to attend the
surgery; however it is recommended that all
children are brought into the surgery so that a
detailed examination can be carried out. If you
require a home visit please telephone the
surgery before 10:30.
Repeat prescriptions can be requested in
writing at Reception or through our website. It
is also possible to set up repeat dispensing
through your local pharmacy, we work closely
with Lloyds in Kew Village and Boots at Kew
Retail Park although it is possible to make
arrangements elsewhere by registering for the
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). If you are
on a long term repeat medication it may be
necessary to see a doctor routinely for a
medication review, please consider this when
requesting your medications and give us plenty
of notice. You should allow two working days
for the request to be processed.
We can offer smoking cessation at the
practice. This is part of the NHS scheme to
reduce the smoking population and there is a
wide range of products and services to support
you if you make the decision to quit. If you are
a smoker thinking about giving up please phone
to book a double appointment to assess your
desire to quit.
