Background:
As Britain’s leading chamber music and song recital venue, Wigmore Hall presents over 450 concerts each season featuring
the world’s leading performers. Wigmore Hall promotes around 450 Learning events per year, giving schools, families,
community groups, hospitals and other organisations the opportunity to take part in workshops, concerts and creative projects
both at the Hall itself, across London and further afield. Wigmore Hall was also the first concert venue to launch its own record
label, Wigmore Hall Live, on which there are now over 80 acclaimed releases.
Job Purpose:
Driving Wigmore Hall’s marketing activities and using a diverse marketing mix to engage a wide range of audiences, both
existing and new, the Marketing Manager will build customer loyalty and maximise sales.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Capture and Interrogation
1.
Monitoring sales and interrogating data, including with a business intelligence suite and a data segmentation
engine, and providing insights to help increase audience engagement and to expand the reach of different areas of
our programming
2.
Segmenting and analysing data for a variety of cross-departmental campaigns, and collaborating with stakeholders
to refine future strategies
3.
Providing data to partner Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations and for internal reporting purposes
4.
Ensuring good data capture throughout the organisation, particularly for first time visitors
Strategy
5.
Preparing and contributing to marketing campaign evaluations to ensure good ROI and intelligent spend of budget
6.
Collaborating with the Marketing team to schedule cross-platform marketing communications, and carry out A/B
testing where appropriate
7.
Co-devising and implementing promotions to diversify audience profile, especially with regards to building on a
younger audience base
8.
Devising appropriate strategies for events presented by or co-presented with external promoters

9.
Producing a wide range of digital marketing materials, including display advertising, social media content and email
marketing campaigns
10. Overseeing production of print marketing materials, including flyers and posters for the concert series, Wigmore
Hall Learning events and the Wigmore Hall Live record label

11. Supporting the busy Wigmore Hall Learning Department in reaching new audiences, ensuring customer retention,
and co-producing digital marketing materials to cover events from all areas of its programme strands: Families,
Early Years, Young People, Study, Community and Schools
12. Driving sales, nationally and internationally, of Wigmore Hall Live CDs and digital downloads, and broadening
engagement with live streamed concerts and events
13. Supporting the Wigmore Hall Development Department in marketing efforts for Friends of Wigmore Hall
14. Any other duties that may be reasonably required of the Marketing Manager
Person Specification:
1.
Experience of creating and delivering marketing strategies to attract diverse audiences using a varied and engaging
marketing mix
2.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to alter tone and content of messages according to context
and audience
3.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
4.
Highly motivated, proactive and flexible in approach
5.
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
6.
High level of competence in IT, especially with website CMS, email marketing platforms and CRM databases
7.
Experience of working in the arts and an interest in classical music
8.
Knowledge of German and French would be beneficial
This role would suit an ambitious marketer with at least three years’ experience working in the arts, who is keen to take on
significant responsibility within a small and busy department.
