“The Rennies”:
The Renaissance Man (or Woman!)
“All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.”
Galileo Galilei
The Renaissance heralded a rebirth of learning in Western Europe. Greek and Roman classics were once
again embraced. The individual was celebrated, and all things were possible. To discover the rich texture
of western European culture during this time, it is helpful to study those individuals who so richly
contributed to their societies.
