Cardiovascular
Anatomy of the heart [chart]
Wall chart with images showing anterior, posterior,
and superior views of the heart and illustrates right and
left ventricles, heart valves, and blood circulation.
Cross section and anterior view of the heart and lungs
are included.
Cardiovascular
Blood Triglycerides Packet
The need for a healthy diet is emphasised by the four
blood viscosity samples in this pack. The samples
show the exaggerated differences seen when analysing
blood serum for lipid and glucose concentrations
Cardiovascular
Cardiovascular disease [chart]
The chart illustrates the cardiac cycle, conduction
system, and electrocardiogram (ECG) and shows
anterior, posterior, and cutaway view of the heart as
well as the location of coronary arteries. It also
illustrates and explains the following diseases:
coronary heart disease, polyarteritis nodosa (PAN),
Kawasaki's disease, angina, myocardial infarction
(heart attack), cerebrovascular accident (stroke),

Display is contained within its own carrying case. 28"
x 27" opened.
Cardiovascular
Death of an artery (easel display)
Artery sections showing build-up of cholesterol
mounted on display easel. Booklet on cholesterol.
Cardiovascular
Deluxe occluded artery
The potentially deadly effects of high cholesterol are
demonstrated by these two transparent tubes. One tube
represents an artery constricted by plaque, which
forms on artery walls when there is excess cholesterol
in the blood. The other tube represents a healthy
artery without any plaque. Turn the model over to see
how plaque buildup can restrict bloodflow in the
constricted artery which slows or stops completely,
and contrast it with the bloodflow in the healthy
artery. An excellent tool for explaining the
importance of keeping cholesterol under control.
Cardiovascular
Heart [chart]
The main image of this chart features cutaways of the
interior structures of the anterior view of the heart
(which is shown sitting on the diaphram). Anterior
view, posterior view, section of heart wall, valves,
heart valves, coronary arteries are all illustrated. The
cardiac cycle, blood pressure, and cardiac conduction
are defined
Cardiovascular
Heart conditions [chart]
This chart contains a large image of a normal heart
for easy comparison with important cardiac
conditions. It visually and textually describes heart
murmurs, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart
defects, acquired heart defects, and high cholesterol
and its consequences.
Cardiovascular
Heart disease [chart ]
This charts illustrates the progression of heart disease
in atherosclerosis. Shows heart disease in
hypertension, congestive heart failure and mitral valve
prolapse. Also contains illustration of the aging heart.

Heart disease risk factors (easel display)
Learning about the risk factors for heart disease is
made easy with this interactive display. Participants
slide the arrow up the scale to add up their risk for
each factor listed on the display. Both controllable and
non-controllable risk factors are included. 52 cm x 71
cm.

Model heart with stand w/ operating manual
Cardiovascular
Heart with bypass vessels model
Model of heart with bypass vessels (Aortic Coronary
Venous Bypass). Natural size; mounted on a stand with
base; separates into two parts showing: one venous
bypass leading to right coronary artery and descending
anterior interventricular ramus (anterior wall) and
circumflex ramus of left coronary artery. Booklet
included.
Cardiovascular
Hypertension [chart]
This chart defines blood pressure and hypertension and
discusses types, causes, and common symptoms of
this condition. The chart defines and illustrates the
potential complications of hypertension which affect
the brain, eye, blood vessels, kidney, and heart.
Cardiovascular
Occluded artery
This model of a human artery dramatically
demonstrates how severe plaque buildup can restrict
blood flow, and sometimes block the artery altogether.
Turn the model over to see how plaque buildup can
restrict blood flow. This condition forces the heart to
pump harder and may cause a heart attack in real life.
Cardiovascular
Respiratory organs and heart model
Life-sized, with removable sections.
Cardiovascular
Understanding stroke [chart]
This chart provides essential information regarding
stroke. Explains and illustrates stroke, including the
two main types: ischemic and hemorrhagic. For
ischemic stroke, shows common sites of plaque
formation, formation of a thrombus and embolus. For
hemorrhagic strokes, illustrates brain with
intracerebral hemorrhage and ateriovenous
malformation (AVM). Shows Circle of Willis with
aneurysm and cross-section of brain with subarachnoid
hemorrhage, arterioles and microaneurysm. Also
provides illustration of the brain and discusses it's
functional areas & their roles in the body. Describes
events leading to a stroke. Lists risk factors and
common neurological deficits after stroke

Baby bottle tooth decay
Cast from a child's mouth, this hinged model shows
that the sugars that coat a baby's mouth while sleeping
with a bottle can cause dental disease. Comes with a
coordinating tear pad. 6 cm x 4 cm x 5 cm.
Dental Health
Sippy cup of sugar
Too much added sugar in a child's diet can cause health
problems including tooth decay and obesity. The
sweet and sticky goo in this display helps teach
parents and caregivers that drinks are the largest
source of added sugar in many children's diets.
Informative tent card lists the health problems caused
by too much sugar, provides facts about the scope of
the problem, and includes tips for limiting adding sugar
consumption.

Diabetes
Understanding diabetes [chart]
Defines diabetes as well as Type 1 and Type 2. Lists
symptoms of both types of the disease. Shows
potential complications of diabetes, such as stroke,
eye disease, heart disease, kidney disease and
circulatory problems. Describes insulin and illustrates
its role in the body and shows the steps in glucose
metabolism. Briefly describes hyperglycemia and
hypoglycemia. Discusses long-term health problems
and healthy lifestyle changes.
Diabetes
Understanding type 2 diabetes [chart]
The second edition of this chart has been simplified
for easier and faster comprehension. Defines type 2
diabetes and role of glucose and insulin in the body.
Lists symptoms, risk factors and ways to control the
disease. This revised chart shows glucose molecules
from the digestive system and insulin molecules from
the pancreas traveling in a blood vessel. Visually
compares a normal body cell to a body cell with
diabetes, illustrating when the cell develops a
resistance to insulin, making it more difficult for
glucose to enter the cell, ultimately leading to build up
of glucose in the blood vessel. Textually and
visually presents complications from the disease:
Heart disease, stroke, vascular disease, nerve damage
(neuropathy), kidney disease (nephropathy),
periodontal disease (gum disease and mouth infection),
and eye disease such as glaucoma, cataracts and
diabetic retinopathy.

Flu
Understanding influenza [chart]
Developed in conjunction with a practicing primary
care physician and an anatomy professor, this poster
covers the areas of influenza that are essential for all
patients to understand. Illustrations and text show
how the virus spreads and areas of the body that are
affected. Lists two kinds of preventative measures:
way to prevent influenza and ways to help prevent the
spread of influenza once you have it. Details
special risk factors and complications and highlights
the importance of getting a flu shot. Tells what do to
if you get sick with the flu and stresses that antibiotics
are not recommended for this disease because they
work only against bacterial infections, not viral
infections (like influenza). Includes answers to three
common patient questions - how to tell the difference
between a cold and the flu, whether the stomach flu
the same as influenza, and if the symptoms of the flu
