Purpose (Succinct statement of why the role exists)
The Business Analyst designs, delivers and supports the reporting, analytics and business insights within the
Corporate Analytics Business Intelligence function. Corporate Analytics has a strong focus on procurement
and financial spend and savings management working with Group Procurement and Finance stakeholders. A
strong level of business intelligence and financial acumen is required, with strong technical skills (such as
Tableau, IBM Cognos, Netezza, SQL, R Programming Language) and analytical capability.
In line with the strategic direction of the Chief Data Office and Enterprise Analytics, the role is required to
develop solutions to automate/transform existing and new reporting/insights using an Agile Way of Working.
Key Accountabilities (Outcomes of the role and the desired behaviours to be exhibited in the role)
The role is responsible for developing and providing reporting and insights such as below but not limited to:

Deliver operational and strategic spend and savings reporting and analytics with Procurement and Finance
stakeholders;

Design and develop business intelligence solutions to improve analytics and insights on corporate spend,
savings management and vendor management;

Realise the reporting and insight requirements using the Group’s strategic BI platform (Netezza, IBM
Cognos & Tableau);

Realise the benefits of automation and capability build aligned with customer value;

Lead change across stakeholders with clear communications and strong relationship building.

Working Relationships (Nature and purpose of internal and external relationships)

Support Group Procurement, Finance and Enterprise Analytics in business intelligence operational
reporting, analytical projects, process improvements and project activities;

Support Group Procurement team and its customers by providing intelligence with data, report and
business insights;

Closely work with offshore partners to make the reporting/analytics operations more efficient and effective;

Liaising with Technology, Business Intelligence Teams, Partners and external vendors to deliver and
develop automated reporting solutions;

Build relationships with vendors and industry groups to assist in the development and support of Corporate
Analytics.
Part B – Person Specification
Qualifications (Indicate whether mandatory or desired)

Degree in Applied Mathematics / Information Technology / Statistics / Commerce (Desired)
Experience

Extensive knowledge in Analytics, Data Mining and Reporting/Dashboard development;

Consulting experience highly desired;

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Tableau / IBM Cognos solutions,

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Operations / Reporting

Extensive experience in Finance and/or Procurement professions as an accountant, systems accountant,
business intelligence specialist, desired;

Extensive experience working with Tableau and IBM Cognos business intelligence tools desired;
Technical Capabilities (skills, knowledge, technical or specialist capabilities)

Advanced skills in Tableau (Strongly Desired)

Advanced skills in IBM COGNOS Solution (Strongly Desired)

Exposure to R Programming (Desired)

Intermediate skills in Oracle Business Suites – iProcurement, Purchasing, iExpense, Contracts (Desired)

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint)






Capability to understand Business Requirements & translate them into Technical Solutions;

Verbal and written communication skills – across all levels within the organisation;


A background working in an Agile environment;

Ability to cope with pressure, prioritise workload and meet agreed timetables;

Ability to travel interstate as required.
