about
music
Jazz is a musical style that originated at the beginning of the 20th century
in African American communities in the Southern United States. It was born out
of a mix of African and European music traditions. From its early development
until the present, jazz has incorporated music from 19th and 20th
century American popular music. West African pedigree is evident in its use
of blue notes, improvisation, polyrhythms, syncopation, call-response, and
the swung note.
The word "jazz" (in early years also spelled "jass") began as a West Coast slang
term and was first used to refer to music in Chicago in 1915
Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre that originated
in African-American communities of primarily the "Deep South" of the United
States at the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field
hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form,
ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll is characterized by specific
chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues chord progression is the most
common
GOSPEL

A gospel is an account, often written, that describes the life of Jesus of Nazareth. In a more
general sense the term "gospel" may refer to the good news message of the New Testament. It is
primarily used in reference to the four canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
However, the term is also used to refer to the Apocryphal gospels, the Non-canonical gospels,
theJewish gospels and the Gnostic gospels.
Pop music (a term that
originally derives from
an abbreviation of
"popular") is usually
understood to be
commercially recorded
music, often oriented
toward a youth market,
usually consisting of
relatively short, simple
songs utilizing
technological
innovations to produce
new variations on
existing themes.
Punk rock is a rock
music genre that
developed between 1974
and 1976 in the United
States, the United
Kingdom, and Australia.
Rooted in garage
rock and other forms of
what is now known
as protopunk music, punk
rock bands eschewed
perceived excesses of
mainstream 1970s rock.
Punk bands created fast,
hard-edged music,
typically with short songs,
stripped-down
instrumentation, and often
political, antiestablishment lyrics. Punk
embraces a DIY ethic;
many bands selfproduced recordings and
distributed them through
informal channels.
Rock music is a genre of popular music that
developed during and after the 1960s, particularly in
the United Kingdom and the United States. It has its
roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, itself heavily
influenced by rhythm and blues and country music.
Rock music also drew strongly on
a number of other genres such
as blues and folk, and
incorporated influences
from jazz,classical and other
musical sources.
A country is a geographical region. A country may be the territory of a sovereign
state, the territory of a non-sovereign (or formerly sovereign) political division, or
a region associated with a certain people or certain characteristics. Sometimes it
is used to refer both to sovereign states and to other political entities , while
other times it refers only to states. It is not uncommon for general information or
statistical publications to adopt the wider definition for purposes such as
illustration and comparison.
