HIV Fellowship Program
A one-year Comprehensive Training Program in HIV Medicine USC Los Angeles AIDS Education and Training Center University of Southern California,
Keck School of Medicine
The USC HIV Medicine Fellowship, based at the Los Angeles
County+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles (LAC+USC) provides
in-depth training in the medical management of persons living with
HIV/AIDS at all stages of disease, from initial diagnosis to advanced
treatment of multidrug resistant virus and opportunistic infections.
Every year this, 12-month, post-graduate fellowship trains two physicians in the knowledge and skills necessary to provide expert HIV care
according to national HIV guidelines and practice standards.
Successful completion of the fellowship leads to eligibility to complete the certification in HIV medicine through the American Academy
of HIV Medicine.
Longitudinal Experience
The fellows will have the opportunity to manage patients in all stages of HIV working in HIV, infectious disease, specialty
clinics, and providing emergency room consultations. Experiences occur at LAC+USC Medical Center, Childrens Hospital,
LA, Los Angeles County Jail, Skid Row, and at selected sites in the Community. The fellows will participate in educational
endeavors and projects to become HIV educators was well as clinicians.

Qualifications:
The candidates should have:
• Interest in practicing HIV Medicine
• Interest in education medical professionals in the diagnosis, prevention, and management of HIV infected persons
• Interest in underserved populations and
community medicine
• Active California M.D. or D.O. medical
license
• Board certification or eligibility in Family
Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency
Medicine, or Med-Peds
