Sadly, one in nine women will get breast cancer in their lifetime and 75% of women diagnosed with
breast cancer are over 50. If you haven’t had a breast screen in the last 2 years, we encourage you to
book your breast screen today.
Current research shows that breast cancer screening is the best way to detect breast cancer early,
before any symptoms are noticed and when treatment is likely to be most successful.
BreastScreen Victoria invites women aged 50-74 to have a free breast screen every 2 years.




You do not need a GP referral to make an appointment
There are BreastScreen clinics located throughout Victoria
The appointment is with a woman
It is free
