Tempo The following terms are commonly used Italian terms with which you should be familiar. They refer to tempo markings that you typically find in music. Complete the chart. TERM DEFINITION Grave Slow tempo, in an extremely low pitch Largo Slow and solemn tempo, pacing at around 40-60 bpm Lento Slow tempo Adagio Slow tempo, between Largo and Andante A composition written in slow tempo Andante Moderate tempo, pacing at 76-108 bpm Moderato Moderate yet restrained tempo Allegro Fast tempo, between Allegreto and Vivace Vivace Lively mood and fast tempo Presto Very fast and rapid A tempo Accelerando (accel.) Ritardando (rit.)
