Piotr J. Slomka, PhD
Piotr Slomka, PhD is a scientist with the Artificial Intelligence in
Medicine Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Slomka
is also a Professor of Medicine at the University of California,
Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine.
Dr. Slomka is widely recognized for his innovative research, and
is regarded as one of the leading contributors to research in
software algorithms for medical image analysis. His current
focus is on the development of automated computer algorithms
for myocardial perfusion quantification and multimodality image
registration. Dr. Slomka has written or co-written over 150
original manuscripts and reviews for peer-reviewed journals. His
research on automating myocardial perfusion analysis is
currently funded by the NIH/NHLBI. He has presented lectures,
both nationally and internationally, and has additionally received
numerous awards from a variety of professional organizations. He is a fellow of the American
College of Cardiology, Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine, and a member of the Society
of Nuclear Medicine Annual Scientific Program Committee.
Dr. Slomka received his doctorate in medical biophysics from the University of Western Ontario
in Canada and his master's degree in computer engineering/medical instrumentation from the
Warsaw University of Technology in Poland.
