Job Vacancy Announcement Position: Social Media and Web Content Specialist Location: Macon Campus Minimum Qualifications: A postsecondary diploma or Associate Degree in a related field and a minimum of two years related years related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an baccalaureate degree in journalism, communications, English, advertising, public relations or a related field emphasizing graphic or web design, marketing, web development, etc. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop or other similar software. The ability to write technical documentation for developers and programmers as well as to communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers. Experience in online marketing, advertising and public relations skills. Training in graphic design, web design, marketing and new media are advantageous. Prior work experience with multiple communication channels and social media tactics in website content maintenance and social media marketing, including Facebook, blogs, Twitter, online forums, etc. General Duties: The Social Media and Web Content Specialist works under the direction of the Executive Director of Advancement and Public Relations with the objective of managing website content related to CGTC’s website as well as creating an online experience for current and potential students via a variety of social media sites. The Social Media and Web Content Specialist will execute specific social media strategies and maximize social media capacity in order to benefit CGTC’s marketing and recruitment efforts. This position is primarily responsible for developing CGTC online marketing strategies and leading CGTC online marketing efforts. Specific responsibilities may include, but is not limited to: 1. Collaborating and communicating College events and activities via various social media outlets (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) 2. Verifying and maintaining the CGTC web content. 3. Must maintain excellent communication, organization, time management, communication skills and possess a strong attention to detail. 4. Analyzing relevant industry benchmarks and assessing CGTC relative performance on an ongoing basis. 5. Monitoring and checking social media trends, tools, technologies and recommending marketing strategies for improvement.
