Blood Type Diet According to Dr. Peter D´Adamo, author of Eat Right For Your Type, a chemical reaction occurs between your blood and the foods you eat. This reaction is part of your genetic inheritance. This reaction is caused by a factor called Lectins. Lectins, abundant and diverse proteins found in foods, have agglutinating properties that affect your blood. So when you eat a food containing protein lectins that are incompatible with your blood type antigen, the lectins target an organ or bodily system and begin to agglutinate blood cells in that area. Fortunately, most lectins found in the diet are not quite so life threatening, although they can cause a variety of other problems, especially if they are specific to a particular blood type. Your blood type diet is the restoration of your natural genetic rhythm. Your blood type diet works because you are able to follow a clear, logical, scientifically researched plan based on your cellular profile. Here's what D'Adamo recommends for each type: Type 0 blood: High-protein, meat-eaters: A high-protein diet heavy on lean meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and light on grains, beans, and dairy. D'Adamo also recommends various supplements to help with tummy troubles and other issues he says people with type 0 tend to have. Type A blood: Vegetarian: A meat-free diet based on fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, and whole grains -- ideally, organic and fresh, because D'Adamo says people with type A blood have a sensitive immune system. Type B blood: Balanced omnivore: Avoid corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts, and sesame seeds. Chicken is also problematic, D'Adamo says. He encourages eating green vegetables, eggs, certain meats, and low-fat dairy. Type AB blood: Mixed diet in moderation: Foods to focus on include tofu, seafood, dairy, and green vegetables. He says people with type AB blood tend to have low stomach acid. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoked or cured meats. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- True or false 1 Peter D´Adamo is an author of the blood type diet. 2 A chemical reaction occurring between your blood and the food you eat is genetically given. 3 Lecithin are proteins found in foods. 4 You should only eat food containing protein lectins compatible with your blood type antigen. 5 If you are blood type 0, your diet should be heavy on meat and vegetables. 6 If you are blood type A, you shouldn´t eat any fruit. 7 If you are blood type B, you should eat corn and wheat. 8 If you are blood type AB, you shouldn’t drink coffee. ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ Zdroje: http://www.drlam.com/blood_type_diet/, http://www.webmd.com/blood-type- diet
