The IACS study: Integrative Approaches to Cancer Survivorship Are you a breast cancer survivor who is interested in learning more about diet, lifestyle, and exercise? The UCSF IACS study is seeking breast cancer survivors to participate in a novel research project that explores the effects of certain lifestyle, nutritional and physical activity recommendations, based on Ayurvedic Medicine, for managing cancer-related symptoms and improving overall quality of life. Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old system of medicine originating in the Indian subcontinent that emphasizes prevention and wellness. Participating in the IACS study As a participant, you would: Participate in a 4 month program at no charge Meet individually with a clinician and yoga instructor Complete 3 assessment visits over 5 months Get support in making long-term lifestyle decisions You may be eligible if: You are a breast cancer survivor who is between 1-12 months beyond the completion of primary therapy (surgery, radiation and chemotherapy) You have received chemotherapy You are in remission For more information on the study and to see if you qualify-Contact the study coordinator at 415-353-7728 The IACS study is being conduct at UCSF’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine.
