The IPN
•
The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) is a Mexican
public institution of research and technological higher
education.
•
It was founded in 1936 to train technicians and
professionals in the areas of engineering, science, new
technologies and management.
•
It is considered the leading technological higher education
institution of Mexico and it has more than 350,000
students enrolled in its 276 academic programs.
IPN´s History
•
The Institute was founded on the premise of supporting
the country’s industrialization and national development
process, as well as to offer education opportunities to
various social sectors, especially the less favored.
•
With 75 years of existence, its role in higher education,
science and technology, and the quality of services it
provides, has propelled it to become a national leader in
technological education with broad public recognition.
