I have been working on the use of web, computers and information technology in medical education since 1995. I created a series of online CME modules betwen 1997 and 2000. Subsequently I helped design and develop our home grown learning management system and I direct a group of multimedia instruction designers who develop the online learning moduels for all employees of the Cleveland Clinic health system. Since 2003 I have also directed the design, development and maintenance of the online curriculum delivery, assessment and ePortfolio system for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. I am doing research on the use of IBM Watson in medical education and Clinical Practice. I strongly believe in the principles of small group collaborative student centered learning and believe that integration of web 2.0 tools into the medical school curriculm can help support these principles and will appeal to the students of the Net generation.
