7-3 Study Guide – Identifying Similar Triangles
There are three ways to determine whether two triangles are similar.
 AA Similarity – two angles of one triangle are congruent to two angles of the other
triangle
 SSS Similarity – measures of the corresponding sides of the triangles are
proportional
 SAS Similarity – measure of two sides of a triangle are proportional to the measures
of the corresponding sides of the other triangle and the included angles are congruent
Determine whether the two triangles shown are similar. If so, state why (AA, SSS, or
SAS) and complete the similarity statement.
