Objectives & Content
• Objectives:
• This course involves students in real-life problems and theory on
database systems and encourages them to design and implement
databases.
• Content:

Database system concepts.
The Relational Data Model.
Relational algebra.
Structured Query Language (SQL).
Data modeling with ER and EER.
Database design: functional dependence and table normalization.
File organizations and index structures.
A relational DBMS (MySQL) will be introduced and used for
implementations and homeworks.
