-Tuesday Nov. 18:
-In-class: We will look at a couple of Ashoka’s Edicts and analyze them.
-HW: Read textbook pg. 93 on the spread of Buddhism in China. Answer the
following question: What did Buddhism provide the Chinese that philosophies, like
Confucianism and Legalism, could not?
-Wednesday Nov. 19:
-In-class:We will learn about Buddhism and China and discuss the theme of
cultural diffusion.
-HW: Read textbook pgs. 102-104 and write a paragraph answering the
following question: Did geography and climate have as significant an impact on the
culture of Greece as it did on the river valley civilizations we have studied? Explain
using historical evidence.
