Basic purpose:
The Marketing Assistant, Secondary will contribute to the sales success of Cengage’s Secondary Division by
assisting with the marketing of locally published and imported resources in Secondary marketing department.
The Marketing Assistant, Secondary will assist the Secondary marketing department for four days per week.

• The Marketing Assistant is responsible
for ensuring that information in the
Secondary Departments’ customer
database is up-to-date and accurate.
This will specifically involve:
- ensuring information such as
contact names, addresses, phone
numbers and email addresses is
correct
- entering new customer data elicited
through competitions, surveys,
telemarketing and other
promotional activities
- using mail merge, transferring the
information into Excel files for direct
mail and email campaigns.

distributed to staff, commission
representatives, booksellers and the
mail-house as briefed.
• Monitor and report on promotional
material inventory stored in-house and
externally.
• Prepare workshop giveaway packs for
distribution at Secondary workshops.
• Prepare page proof PDF files and
collateral for workshops and for the
Sales Departments.

coordinating despatching and
returning conference kit,
bookstands, posters, book/price
lists, catalogues and any other
marketing material to interstate
