Assessment Criteria for Performance Sports
Seeking Performance Sport Scholarships
Each application that meets the required eligibility criteria will be assessed
against the following:
1. The validity of the Sport Performance Plan with particular reference to
senior Intervarsity sport competitions.
2. The potential impact of the Scholarship(s) on performance levels and
competitive success within the Sport with particular reference to senior
Intervarsity sport competitions.
3. Previous experience of recruiting and managing Scholars and how the
Sport proposes to maximize benefit of the Scholarships for all i.e.
Scholar, Sport and Ulster University.
4. The level of financial need demonstrated by the Sport and the
additional resource allocations being made by them in support of the
Scholarship(s).
Applicants will be scored on the above criteria out of a total of 100 with a
weighting as follows:

Following the assessment process the highest scoring Performance Sports
applications will receive Performance Sport Scholarships, based on their
outlined priorities, providing they have achieved an assessment score of at
least 70. Depending on the number of Scholarships applied for, not all Sports
may receive the number that they request.
