Assign Materials
OVERVIEW
This document provides a step-by-step tutorial for assigning material properties
to a solid body. Two options both defined as Step 2 of this exercise are available.
The preferred method is to assign the DTNA specified material known as a 48spec. Alternatively, if the material can not be found in the Materials List using the
DTNA filter, a custom material may be applied.
1
Define the target body for material
a. Select the Target Body
b. Select DaimlerAddons /MasterData /MassProp Solid.
Upon selection of the solid body the Material List will appear.

In the event the material of the part is unknown or comprised of
multiple materials weight may be applied manually.
3
Within the Material and Mass Properties
dialog box ensure that the material
selection is enabled.
Common scenarios include vendor assembled parts/modules and
composite material, among others.
