Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the
author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before him
endured the cross, scorning its
shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God.
Colossians 1:15-22
He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him
all things were created: things in heaven
and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or
authorities; all things were created by
him and for him. 17 He is before all
things, and in him all things hold
together. 18 And he is the head of the
Colossians 1:15-22
body, the church; he is the beginning and
the firstborn from among the dead, so
that in everything he might have the
supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to
have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and
through him to reconcile to himself all
things, whether things on earth or things
in heaven, by making peace through his
blood, shed on the cross. 21 Once you
Colossians 1:15-22
were alienated from God and were
enemies in your minds because of your
evil behavior. 22 But now he has
reconciled you by Christ's physical
body through death to present you holy
in his sight, without blemish and free from
accusation.

Acts 2:29-36
"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that
the patriarch David died and was
buried, and his tomb is here to this
day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew
that God had promised him on oath that
he would place one of his descendants
on his throne. 31 Seeing what was
ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of
the Christ, that he was not abandoned
Acts 2:29-36
to the grave, nor did his body see
decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to
life, and we are all witnesses of the
fact. 33 Exalted to the right hand of
God, he has received from the
Father the promised Holy Spirit and
has poured out what you now see and
hear. 34 For David did not ascend to
heaven, and yet he said, " 'The Lord
Acts 2:29-36
said to my Lord: "Sit at my right
hand 35 until I make your enemies a
footstool for your feet."
' 36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured
of this: God has made this Jesus, whom
you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Victory
The initial victory
of the cross and
the grave was
whose victory?
Revelation 5:1-10
Then I saw in the right hand of him who
sat on the throne a scroll with writing on
both sides and sealed with seven
seals. 2 And I saw a mighty
angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who
is worthy to break the seals and open
the scroll?" 3 But no one in heaven or
on earth or under the earth could open
the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept
Revelation 5:1-10
and wept because no one was found
who was worthy to open the scroll or
look inside. 5 Then one of the elders
said to me, "Do not weep! See, the
Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of
David, has triumphed. He is able to
open the scroll and its seven
seals." 6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as
if it had been slain, standing in the center
Revelation 5:1-10
of the throne, encircled by the four living
creatures and the elders. He had seven
horns and seven eyes, which are the
seven spirits of God sent out into all the
earth. 7 He came and took the scroll
from the right hand of him who sat on the
throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the
four living creatures and the twenty-four
elders fell down before the Lamb. Each
Revelation 5:1-10
one had a harp and they were holding
golden bowls full of incense, which are
the prayers of the saints. 9 And they
sang a new song: "You are worthy to
take the scroll and to open its seals,
because you were slain, and with your
blood you purchased men for God from
every tribe and language and people and
nation. 10 You have made them to be a
Revelation 5:1-10
kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth."

Colossians 2:9-15
For in Christ all the fullness of the
Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and you
have been given fullness in Christ, who
is the head over every power and
authority. 11 In him you were also
circumcised, in the putting off of the
sinful nature, not with a circumcision
done by the hands of men but with the
circumcision done by Christ, 12 having
Colossians 2:9-15
been buried with him in baptism and
raised with him through your faith in the
power of God, who raised him from the
dead. 13 When you were dead in your
sins and in the uncircumcision of your
sinful nature, God made you alive with
Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14
having canceled the written code, with its
regulations, that was against us and that
Colossians 2:9-15
stood opposed to us; he took it away,
nailing it to the cross. 15 And having
disarmed the powers and authorities, he
made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross.
Christ’s victory on the
cross made another
equation possible
Victory = Grace
God’s victory = The opportunity of grace
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life.”
If we accept His
opportunity the equation
changes once more
Grace = Victory
God’s grace for us = Our victory
1 John 5:4-5
for everyone born of
God overcomes the world. This is the
victory that has overcome the world,
even our faith. 5 Who is it that
overcomes the world? Only he who
believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your
sting?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and
the power of sin is the law. 57 But
thanks be to God! He gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I
no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me.
What are you
doing with that gift
of grace?
Have you ever accepted
God’s grace?
• A – Accept that Jesus God and died for us.
• B – Believe that He loves us and will forgive us.
• C – Confess
• Confess that we need Him
• Confess that we are sinners who need to
be forgiven
• Confess that Jesus is who we believe in
What are you doing with
that gift of grace?
• Are you squandering it?
• Are we sharing it?
• Are we allowing it to shape us?
Remember the equations
of Easter
•C + R = V
•Victory = Grace
•Grace = Victory
