I. To calculate the mean and standard deviation, your calculator must be in “SD” Mode. But first you should
clear the memory of your calculator.
To clear the memory be sure to press:Shift CLR 1 =
To put your calculator in “SD” Mode pres:Mode 2
1. To find the mean and standard deviation of the sample; 6.2 , 5.4 , 3.1 :
a. Enter the data : press

b. To find the mean, press : Shift 21= (Answer : 4.9).
c. To find the sample standard deviation press : Shift 23= (Answer : 1.609347694)
2. To find the mean and standard deviation of the sample grouped data (frequency table)
(Make sure to clear the memory)
