MATH PLACEMENT TEST
You may need to take the Math Placement Test in order to determine which level of Math you can begin
at ISU. Among other requirements, the College of Business requires MAT 121 (Applied Calculus) to be
completed with a C or better. The following is a list of math courses and their prerequisites which will
bring you to MAT 121:

(“C” in MAT 119 or appropriate placement score)
MAT 121
Applied Calculus
(“C” in MAT 119 & 120) or (“C” in MAT 120 & appropriate
placement score)
How do I sign up?
Call or go to the University Testing Office in 346B Fell Hall.
Phone #: 438-2100 Hours: 8am – 4:30pm, M-F
Is there a cost?
The test costs $15. This amount will be billed to your student account.
Do I need to bring anything?
Remember to bring a picture ID.
When can I take the test?
Monday – Friday: Tests are given hourly from 8am – 3pm (except noon).
Appointments recommended.
When will I receive results?
Immediately after you complete the exam – the test is a multiple choice computer test.
Then what?
You may bring your results to the COB Advisement Center to find out which
Math course you have placed in to or call the Advisement Center 24 hours after you have
taken the test (438-8385).
