Bring the best out of your diverse organization
Is your organization using its full potential? Do you have the self-awareness and emotional intelligence to lead
your diverse workforce? Can you create management systems that support an inclusive working culture? This
is what the CAS in Diversity Leadership is all about. It is designed to make you the next generation leader: One
that ensures all individuals are part of the effective functioning of the organization, regardless of their personal
characteristics such as gender, cultural background, sexual orientation, age, religion, identity and abilities.
Structure and content of studies
This is a 15 ECTS master’s level course
with four course modules and nine
presence days. The concept is based on the
latest research on diversity and inclusion in
organizations. The program advances
systematically
from
one
diversity
leadership step to another. The goal is to
immerse students into a comprehensive
method of leading diversity – one that runs
through the entire organization, creating
true value add to its various functions and
diverse employees.
The course is applicable to different fields
and organizations. Master’s students can
conduct their master’s thesis research
based on the program content.

1.1 Individual Diversity Competencies
• Different approaches to culture and diversity, identities, stereotyping, “unconscious bias”
• Goal: Develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence and empathy, which are at the root
of advanced leadership
1.2 Inclusive Culture and Dynamics
• Organizational cultures, gender in working life, norms, informal power hierarchies,
interaction in working environment
• Goal: Learn to reflect and create inclusive leadership practices
2.1 Diagnosing Diversity and Inclusion
• Qualitative and quantitative methods of diversity analyses
• Goal: Learn to understand organizational demographics, and possible biases in
processes and cultural climate
2.2 Goals, Business Case and Measurements
• Drivers and business objectives for diversity leadership
• Goal: Learn to substantiate the value add of your diversity leadership to the
organization’s operations, strategic positioning and marketing activities
3.1 Inclusive Systems and Infrastructure
• Processes e.g. supply chains; HR systems e.g. flexible working arrangements;
communication and interaction systems e.g. mentoring and networking; and physical
spaces e.g. on/offline architecture
• Goal: Learn to create the concrete conditions for an effective diversity leadership
3.2 Design and Implementation of Diversity Strategy
• Goal: Learn how to design initiatives that combine all of the above, and to integrate them
into the organization's existing functioning
4.1 Guest Speaker from the Industry
• Goal: Learn best practices of companies that have set up exemplary diversity and
inclusion programs
