Formatting your questions ready for importing to the iLearn question bank
If you haven’t already, set up Question Bank categories
1. In word format your questions as shown in the box below
2. Remove ABSOLUTELY ALL formatting, bullet or number points, page
numbers, instructions to students, tabs, shading, text colour etc.
3. Save later drama, be exact.
4. Cut and paste into a text file or save as a txt file
In theory you can import multiple formats in one go. In practice I find it better to
make a separate document for each type of question and import them separately.

Essay / Short Answer Questions
Define an ocean wave.
ANSWER: An ocean wave is an undulation of the sea surface which, when
undisturbed, is naturally smooth.
What are the four factors which determine the size and variety of wind-formed
waves?
ANSWER: The size and variety of wind-formed waves are determined by wind
velocity, wind duration, original sea state, and fetch.
What is "fetch"?
ANSWER: Fetch is the area of water over which the wind is blowing.
