Past paper questions
Describe the
changes in
weather that the
people of London
are likely to see
in the next 24hrs.
5KU
London will experience changing weather as
it is in the middle of a low pressure system.
 As London is currently in a warm sector it will
be relatively warm and dry (1), it has no
fronts above it so there will be a clear sky and
no rainanswer
(1). As the cold front moves in the
Model
temperature will drop (1) and winds will
increase (1). The cold front will bring heavy
rainfall (1) and possibly thunderstorms. As
the cold front passes London will continue to
have low temperatures but the rainfall will be
less heavy and there will just be some
showers (1 or 2). After the fronts have
passed there is a band of higher pressure
and the sky will be clear with little to no wind.
