EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
To be a manager with a minimum of two years’ proven successful and diverse
fundraising experience
To have a proven track record of developing a fundraising strategy including setting
and achieving ambitious targets, developing policies, processes and budgets.
To have a proven track record of achieving significant growth in income generation.
To have experience of managing specialist fundraising targets.
To have extensive experience of researching, developing and submitting successful
grant/tender/contract applications.
To have experience of working with colleagues to provide information for reports to
funders, including detailed financial information.
To have experience of appointing and managing specialist suppliers and agencies.
To have experience of developing processes for researching and identifying
fundraising and grants/tenders/contracts.
To have thorough knowledge of charity law and fundraising best practice.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To be motivated by the cause of the charity and by professionalism to achieve
outstanding results.
To be creative, entrepreneurial and innovative, with the ability to be a forward thinker
and plan strategically, whilst showing excellent attention to detail and maintaining
quality.
To be proactive and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, with the
ability to remain calm and work to tight deadlines.
To have excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to produce
concise and persuasive prose, as well as having excellent numeracy skills.
To have high level computer literacy skills for on-line applications, record keeping and
web-based research, as well as the ability to use all MS Office applications.
Good and demonstrable interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively network and
work in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations and positively
promote DHA and its services.
Ability to act as a spokesperson for the charity and as an internal champion of
fundraising.
To have excellent project management skills, along with strong commercial acumen.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
To have an understanding of the issues affecting homelessness, poor housing and
debt and disadvantaged people in general.
Commitment to equality in service delivery
JOB CIRCUMSTANCES
To have a driving licence for a motor vehicle and use of a motor vehicle for business
purpose.
To have a flexible approach and be able to work outside of normal office hours as
appropriate to the needs of the duties of the post.
