EnergyCorridorFarmersMarketManager (part-time,seasonal,contract) JobDescription: ThemarketmanagerensuresthesmoothoperationoftheEnergyCorridorFarmers Marketeveryweek.Heorshewillmanagetheentirecycleofoperationofafarmers marketincludingmanagementofthefacilityorspace,supplies,newprograms,and oversight.TheMarketManagermustbeavailableeverySaturdayJanuary–Juneand September–1stweekendinDecember. PerformsdutiesunderthegeneraldirectionoftheGoverningCommitteeand CommunicationsandOutreachCoordinatoroftheEnergyCorridorDistrict. Duties: Onmarketday,themarketmanagerwill: • • • • • Coordinatesetupofvendorsforbesttrafficflow Assistinsetupandteardownofthemarket Collectvendorfees StafftheWelcomebooth Ensureappropriatestandardsandsafety Duringtheweek,themarketmanagerwill: • • • • • • Createtheweeklyemailnewsletterandsocialmedia Determineupcomingmarketday’svendorsforplanningpurposes Coordinateeventstoincreasetraffictothemarket Coordinatevolunteersformarketday Fieldcallsfrompotentialandexistingvendorsaswellascustomers Makesitevisitstonewvendorsifneeded RequiredQualifications: Excellentcommunicationsskills,bothwrittenandoral. Abilitytoplanandorganizework,analyzeproblemsandidentifysolutions.Mustbe detailoriented. Cashhandlingorretailexperiencerequired.Mustbedependable. DesiredQualifications: Knowledgeoforinterestinfarmersmarkets,localfood,agriculture,and/or entrepreneurship. ConditionsofEmployment: WorkSchedule:8:00AM–2:00PMonSaturdays.Thistimeperiodiscriticaltothe weeklyoperation.Approximately5-10hoursofunscheduledandflexiblehours outsideofMarketDayoperationtime. MarketrunsfromJanuarythroughJuneandSeptemberthroughthe1stweekendin December. Positionispaidonacontract-onlybasisat$20/hourforupto10hours.Requires somephysicallabor.
