Rhetorical Analogies
• Defined as the likening of two or more things
to make one appear better or worse than the
other, rhetorical analogies are analogies used
to express or influence attitudes or affect
behavior by invoking images with an
emotional association. They can also be used
as comparisons.

Examples
• Abortion is the murder of an unborn child.
• I am trying to think of more examples before it
gets to late at night, but my brain must be
fried because I can’t think of anything.
Differences with other rhetoric
I can see how these rhetoric devices can be
associated with others, but I believe the
difference is how others use words associated
with good or bad, these devices tend to give
us visual impressions based off our beliefs.
