Speaker Profiles:
Simon McKeever, Chief Executive, Irish Exporters Association
Simon McKeever has over 20 years’ international working experience in developing
businesses and an outstanding track record in development of trade, trade policy
and strategy across Ireland and the UK.
Simon joined the Irish Exporters Association as Chief Executive in October 2013
where he is responsible for leading a team of 20 people who work with companies
across the Irish export industry, including SME’s who are beginning to think about
exporting for the first time right through to global multinational companies who are
already extensively exporting from Ireland. Simon drives the direction of the
organisation as the leading, enabling and connecting force for Irish exporters,
providing practical knowledge and support across the Island of Ireland and in foreign
markets.
Prior to Simon taking up his current position as Chief Executive, he spent 3 years as
Director of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Dublin, which placed him
at the forefront of joint trade strategy between Ireland and the UK, where he
developed a close working relationship between UK Trade and Investment and
Enterprise Ireland. Simon was the driving force behind the creation of the British Irish
Chamber of Commerce, and his leadership on the Agri-food agenda created a joint
initiative that has kicked off the first Irish British Food Business Innovation Summit in
Dublin.
Simon’s career to date encompassed senior executive roles in global financial
markets and business consultancy in Ireland. Simon spent 18 years working in
global financial markets, with RBC, TD and AIB Capital Markets. He is widely
travelled and has been at the forefront of developing considerable business in the
Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the UK, in a business development capacity,
winning new customers and rolling out new products.
Jim Power - Jim Power Economics Limited
Jim Power is owner manager of Jim Power Economics Limited, an economic and
financial consultancy. The company carries out consultancy projects, public
speaking, and training for a variety of public and private sector entities.
He has worked as Chief Economist to the Friends First Group and was previously
Treasury Economist at AIB (1987-1991) and Chief Economist at Bank of Ireland
Group Treasury (1992-2000).
He is the author of the SIMI/DoneDeal Motor Industry Review and Friends First
Quarterly Economic Outlook. He has a particular interest in Financial Services,
Tourism, Regional Development and the Agri-Food sector.
He is Chairman of Love Irish Food and investment firm Three Rock Capital, and he
is a Board Member of Agri-Aware.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars both in Ireland and overseas.
He has a weekly column in The Irish Examiner.
He lectures on the MSc. Management at Smurfit School of Business, UCD.
In 2009 he wrote his first book, “Picking up the Pieces’, and in 2017 he co-authored
a book ‘Marketing Multiplied’, which examines the economics of marketing, brand
building and advertising.

Blaise Brosnan has a unique blend of practical top management experience gained
over 25 years in his capacity as Chief Executive of a well-known National Irish
business and later as business mentor to a range of Irish business types.
Blaise has also worked closely with many major international companies all over the
world, to successfully implement business interventions and strategic growth
programs, guiding these businesses through the many phases of change to
successful outcomes and significant growth in business and profitability.
Earlier in his career to underpin his ‘cutting edge’ experience, Blaise studied and
graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1989 with a MSc. – Management.
Blaise brings his wealth of practical and theoretical business experience to each of
his roles – as entrepreneur, business director, business consultant and coach.
In recent years, Blaise’s clients have regularly requested that he create a resource
where he could impart much of his unique and invaluable knowledge, strategy and
experience in one place. And so his three books were written.
