George Devereaux Bond, II, MPA, MS
George Bond was born in Portland, Oregon and then, with his father being in the
Army, moved around the United States and the world living in Japan; Naples,
Italy; and Izmir, Turkey as well as San Pedro, CA; Detroit; and Washington, DC.
Mr. Bond graduated from high school in Izmir and attended Texas A & M for a
year prior to transferring to the Coast Guard Academy. Graduating in 1969, CDR
Bond served for 24 years having assignments on CAMPBELL (W-32), CAPE
FOX (WPB-95316), CGHQ Boating Safety, SPAR (WLB-403), Governors Island
(D3 and LANTAREA), Philadelphia (Regional Representative of the Secretary of
Transportation), D7 (SAR and Haitian Migrant Interdiction), then back to CGHQ
(Personnel, Medical, and Personnel). Mr. Bond retired in 1993 and began
teaching Math in Prince William County Public Schools. In 1995 he settled at
Woodbridge Senior High School, Woodbridge, Virginia where he taught Algebra
I; Algebra I (Part 1 and 2); Algebra, Functions and Data Analysis; Probability and
Statistics; and Discrete Math. George retired from Woodbridge Senior High
School in 2010.
Mr. Bond received a BS from the Coast Guard Academy, a MPA (Public
Administration) from New York University, a MS (Education) from Virginia Tech,
and worked on a PhD in Educational Leadership at George Mason. He joined
the Auxiliary in 1997 and the LAMS staff in 2001.
He is currently the Branch Assistant for the Auxiliary Leadership and
Management School (BA-TLA) having held other positions at the flotilla, division,
and National level. He is in Flotilla 054-25-10 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
